We had 9 starters for scratch racing today, another very encouraging turn out for 95 racing.
The wind was at about 18km/h gusting to about 25 km/h and shifted between S and SE
regularly, so very tricky to find the quickest way to the windward mark.
Phil R and Geoff O sailed well but had to leave early, so didn't figure in the top placings.
The day was won by a consistent Murray H, closely followed by Grant T and Peter B.
Once again the middle of the fleet placings were very close with only 4 points between 4th
and 7th place.
With the southerly breeze making for a shorter course and skippers taking on their PRO
duties promptly we managed 12 races today. Well done everybody.
Great to see Murray D getting his new boat in the water for the first time, he had an average
day while trying to sort out his tuning, but look out when he has.
Great to see Brian E back on the water after his eye ops, must have worked as he lead a few
races for a while and finished near the front in a few.
There were a few comings together in the gusty conditions, but with everybody starting to try and call early, hopefully we can all get a better grasp of the rules and have smoother sailing.
